Malkha fabric has become known as freedom fabric as it generates livelihoods, promotes a sustainable way of life and is environment friendly. The term malkha comes from the amalgamation of mulmul (fine, soft cotton, muslin) and khadi (hand-woven cotton) and is the name of a Trust in Hyderabad. They are committed to restoring Indian handloom fabric and supporting India’s small growers, spinners, ginners, dyers, and weavers. This particular piece is handloom cotton and was dyed using natural indigo in a cold fermentation vat. Two additional small pieces will be included at no cost. These measure 115cm x 85cm and 70cm x 50cm. Cold, hand-wash separately.
