Set of four stylish, bell metal (kansa) plates from Kerala. Bell metal is a hard bronze alloy used for making bells and in India cooking and eating vessels. It is a form of bronze with a higher tin content, usually in approximately a 4:1 ratio of copper to tin. Bell metal, unlike copper or brass does not react to acidic food and is also felt to have many health benefits in India.
