This pair of ceramic incense holders was hand made by artisans in the town of Shantiniketan about four hours north of Kolkata. The town was established by Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore as a centre of learning and culture at the beginning of the 20th century. Today the town remains an important centre for craft and there are number of pottery studios who are passionate about preserving the craft.
