This hand block-printed cotton was made by artisans in the village of Ajrakhpur in Kutch, Gujarat. The intricate Ajrakh designs involve a labour intensive and complex process applying natural dyes, mordants and white resist. The colours used here are vegetable dyes of indigo (blue) and madder (red). This is a dupatta (shawl) length and with a little edging could be ready to wear. There maybe tiny variations in the printing but these are its charm and show it was hand-made. Hand-wash or dry-clean.
